Apple has acquired SiliconGrail -- a visual effects software developer -- and its RAYZ and Chalice product lines, according to a statement issued on the SiliconGrail Web site. In recent months, Apple has pushed new video production products as a part of an overall strategy aimed at gaining leadership in the professional and amateur video marketplaces.
